Letter: Support LGBTQ+ Granite Staters

Published: 04-14-2024 2:00 PM

LGBTQ+ Granite Staters are our friends, family, and neighbors. We must stand up against attacks on their rights and urge state lawmakers to reject anti-LGBTQ+ bills this session. The anti-LGBTQ+ legislation introduced this session goes against New Hampshire values and our state motto “Live Free or Die.” Both the New Hampshire House and Senate have passed bills that could harm our LGBTQ+ community. Bills passed by the NH House banning health care and referrals for LGBTQ+ individuals will be heading to the NH Senate. The NH Senate has passed hostile legislation that could result in higher levels of surveillance and intrusion into the daily lives of young LGBTQ+ Granite Staters and would ban transgender girls from playing on teams corresponding to the gender they live every day. These bills will be considered by the NH House soon.

Threats against LGBTQ+ Granite Staters’ rights have no place in New Hampshire. Show your support for our LGBTQ+ community. Contact your New Hampshire lawmakers, urge them to reject anti-LGBTQ+ bills when they vote on them!
