Letter: I cannot ‘unsee’ the hatred in the faces of a group of adults

Recently a photo on the front page of the Monitor showed a group of angry adults gathered at a child’s sporting event. These defiant adults say they are defending their right to protest. But who is defending an innocent child against this potentially violent threat?

Will school bullying be sanctioned by this affirmation by adults? Do these adults know about the high suicide rate in vulnerable transgender children? Will we need police in our school to protect them against this violence as well as gun violence? How was this malevolence seen as a peaceful protest?
