Sen. Shaheen scored a big vote for justice and the rule of law on Wednesday night. In presenting the resolution to prevent the illegal sale of arms, Sen. Sanders said, “The Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control Act are very clear: the United States cannot provide weapons to countries that violate internationally recognized human rights or block U.S. humanitarian aid.”

It has been clearly seen that the people of Gaza are starving and dying of thirst. It is estimated that over 60,000 Palestinian people have perished in the last few months from forced starvation, which is a war crime. It is also against our U.S. law to use starvation as a weapon. Doctors are reporting treating hundreds of patients a day without electricity, anesthesia, or clean water while trucks are waiting at the border. We can support Israel without breaking our own laws. The honorable Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is on the right side of history.
