Monday night’s school board meeting — the last of the current term — was heralded in by a string ensemble from Broken Ground Elementary, which charmed members of the school board with a seasonable rendition of “Jingle Bell Rock.”
The meeting was the first of two major ones for the board this week. On Wednesday evening, the board will hold a special meeting on the middle school project and the charter amendments passed on election day. At that meeting, the board will weigh options for paths forward from its attorney and hear public comment on what it should do next. That will take place at 6 p.m. in the board’s regular meeting room at 38 Liberty St.
At Monday’s meeting, the board unanimously approved the addition of three new elective courses to the high school: Principles of Marketing, Sports Management and Adaptive Music. All can be added under current staffing levels, Principal Tim Herbert said.
