Joel Harris was busy inside Dos Amigos Burritos in downtown Concord on Tuesday, but the work had nothing to do with preparing Mexican food.
The popular restaurant is closed for construction as a new floor is installed in the kitchen and the space gets a quick makeover.
“We’re just taking the slow time of year, just to freshen things up,” said Harris, the owner. “Small, kind of cosmetic things.”
Several of the regular employees were helping to paint the interior, while contractors worked on replacing the kitchen floor. Harris was overseeing and directing work.
Dos Amigos serves far more than burritos for take-out or eat-in. The restaurant expanded its North Main Street footprint in 2017 when it took over the space formerly occupied by Depot Antiques & Toys.
Harris said they’re shooting to open back up Friday, February 16.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your ongoing love and support,” reads a sign on the front door.
