Highlights: Exeter and Concord needed to count their sixth scorers in order to break the tie, and the Blue Hawks earned the narrow victory over the Tide at Concord Country Club. Concord’s eighth golfer, Holden Martin, won medalist honors.

Highlights: Savary was the medalist and Fortier was second at Claremont Country Club.

Highlights: The Generals defeated the Falcons in a battle between two final four teams.

Key players: MV — Kaiya Mercier (2 goals), Lauren Bailey (assist), Hannah Butler (assist), Abbey Thompson (defense), Caroline Wheeler (defense)

Highlights: MV scored less than two minutes into the first quarter off a penalty corner off a shot from the top of the circle by Mercier, inserted by Lauren Bailey. Mercier scored again with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter after a cross pass from Hannah Butler. MV held the advantage in penalty corners 9-6.

Key players: Pembroke – Zoe Royal (8 saves), Anne Phillips (goal), Carlee LePage (midfield), Maddie Teasck (defense)

Highlights: Lebanon controlled play for much of the first half and scored on a ricochet in the first quarter. Phillips tied the score with an assist from Tessa Love. Pembroke’s starting keeper had to leave due to injury after the first quarter, but sophomore Zoe Royal stepped in and kept Lebanon off the board the rest of the way.

Coach’s quote:  “I am very excited with how we dealt with adversity today. Zoe did a great job especially she had played a total of one JV game in net. After getting outplayed for much of the first we were the better team in the second half.” – Pembroke’s Steve Langevin

Highlights: The Giants scored two goals in each quarter to roll to a victory over Littleton.

Girls’ Soccer

Gilford 9, Hillsboro-Deering 1

Key players: H-D – Alexis Laporte (28 saves), Kathryn Thyng (assist), Emma Davis (goal)

Highlights: Thyng made a great cross into the box for Davis to score H-D’s first goal of the season. Molly Smart, Stacia Murdough, Penelope Bows, and Isabelle Johnson played strong defense against Gilford’s very skilled, disciplined offensive unit.

Coach’s quote: “Even though we did not come out with a win, this team showed strong efforts and positivity throughout the entire game. In my opinion, we played one of our best games this season and we want to continue to build on this progress. Again, I am proud of this team.” – H-D’s Jenna Rheault

Key players: Hopkinton – Isabella Serzans (3 goals), Gemma Guadagno (2 goals), Annie Morrall (goal, 2 assists), Paige Prisco-Nelson (goal, assist), Avery Loew (3 saves), Rylee Magnin (defense), Paige Boudette (defense), Pippa Lang (defense)

Highlights: Two first half penalty kicks made it 1-1 at halftime, but the second half was a much different game with the Hawks scoring six times.

Coach’s quote: “The first half by the Hawks was not one to remember. I was confused why weren’t playing to our potential. Not sure what it was in the second half other than a few adjustments, but the girls were on fire.” – Hopkinton’s Mike Zahn

Kearsarge 3, Newport 1

Key players: Kearsarge – Carly Grant (2 goals), Addy Rossi (goal), Ava Shapiro (assist), Nadia Spiegel (assist); Newport – Brooklyn Ranney (goal), Skylar Nelson (31 saves)

Highlights: Grant opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 28th minute. Newport tied things up in the 34th minute when Ranney tapped one in from a scrum in front of the net. Rossi redirected a cross from Shapiro in the 58th minute and Grant finally put the match away in the 79th minute, breaking through the back line off a pass from Spiegel. Cougars created a load of opportunities, but Nelson kept the Tigers in the game with great goalkeeping.
