Letter: What does the party stand for?

The Republican party likes to tout themselves as “pro-family” and “pro-child,” but that flies in the face of what we have witnessed in the state of New Hampshire, under a Republican State House. Harmony Montgomery, Elijah Lewis, Dennis Vaughn, Jason Rothe, the person housed at the psychiatric unit at Concord prison, and the multiple children abused at the Sununu Youth Center, (the largest youth detention scandal in the U.S., according to an article by NHPR).

All of these tragedies could have been prevented by better vetting and training of staff as well as better pay for the people tasked to do these jobs by the state. Unfortunately, the Republicans were more interested with their blind adoration of their leader, a convicted felon, than the welfare of the vulnerable in the state. One way to end the constant and continual tragedies is to vote blue up and down the ballot this November. The last thing this state needs is another governor blinded by Trump.
