The Department of Business and Economic Affairs will hold a Rapid Response session in Pittsfield on Monday for the dozens of employees laid off by Rustic Crust following the company’s closure last week.

Rapid Response sessions aim to connect workers who have lost their jobs due to business closure or layoffs with resources to get back on their feet. This session will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pittsfield Town Hall, located at 85 Main St.

“When a business closes or has layoffs, we bring full wrap-around services to the employees and the employer impacted by this closure,” said Joe Doiron, director of workforce development at the Department of Business and Economic Affairs. “The goal here is to meet the needs of individuals to help them with everything from rapid reemployment to finding training services to getting other services that they may need.”

Rapid Response sessions bring together resources from across different state agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, New Hampshire Employment Security, the Department of Labor, and more, per Doiron.

“There’s a focus on local folks helping local individuals find rapid reemployment, supportive services, training, and referrals to services and programs that are out there,” Doiron added.
