A propane truck rolled over on I-93 on Tuesday morning, shutting down the highway and snarling traffic for hours.

New Hampshire State Police shut down a portion of the northbound side of the interstate near Bow as troopers investigated the crash, New Hampshire State Police said in a series of social media posts.

A photo showed the truck lying on its side on the embankment just north of the Hooksett Welcome Center. The department said, “Drivers should avoid the area and anticipate delays.”

The crash did not cause an explosion but prompted State Police to close all lanes of the highway at mile marker 32.8 in Bow. State Police announced that the left lane had reopened nearly an hour and a half after its first communications.
