Key players: Bow – Aaron Barrieau (goalie), Colby Smith (goal), Matei Botha

Highlights: Barrieau stopped a penalty kick in the first half and Smith connected on a free kick in the 69th minute to lift the Falcons over the Knights in head coach Josh Smith’s first game behind the Bow bench.

Hanover 7, Concord 1

Key players: Concord  – Ben Hughes (goal), Matthew Jenness (17 saves)

Highlights: Jenness stopped 17 of the 24 shots he faced and Hughes scored to open the second half to make it 3-1.

Key players: H-D – Kathryn Thyng, Emma Davis

Highlights:  The Hillcats put forth a great effort, but allowed a pair of goals to the Huskies in their season opener.

Coach’s quote:  “My girls worked really hard today against Monadnock, but unfortunately they were able to score two great goals against us. Kathryn Thyng and Emma Davis worked really hard offensively and defensively to try to score for H-D and protect our goalie. It is only up from here.” – H-D’s Makayla Savoy

Kearsarge 3, Inter-Lakes 1

Key players: Kearsarge  – Ellie Wimer (3 goals), Ann Dudley (assist), Jada Kendrigan (assist), Joleigh Root (assist), Reese Lacombe (defense), Carly Grant (midfield), Ava Shapiro (midfield); Inter-Lakes – Laura Schwarz (goal)

Highlights: After a slow first half, Wimer fired a shot from outside the 18 to open the scoring in the 44th minute and tallied another in the 49th. Despite the Cougars controlling most of the play in the second half, Schwarz scored for the Lakers in the 67th minute, but Wimer locked up her hat trick in the 70th.

Highlights: Abby Bradbury the Cougars on the board early in the second quarter off a Syversten assist.

Key players: Hopkinton – Zach Hopper (5-over 42), Bronson Ammann (6-over 43); Mascenic – Josiah Hakala (medalist, 5-under 32); Belmont – Max Ryder (48)

Highlights: Hopper and Ammann played consistent golf and got support from senior Adam Richter and junior Tate Doolan in Hopkinton’s season-opening match.
