 Lisa Scolaro has been named Principal of Sutton Central School.  Scolaro comes to the school from the Lebanon School District, where she served as Director of Equity, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for four years. In that role she drove planning of curriculum, instruction, data analysis, assessment, and professional learning. She also designed processes to align the Lebanon district’s curriculum and assessment to national standards.

Laura Hilliard has been promoted to Business Banking Relationship Specialist with MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank.)  In this role, Laura will provide account and service support to the Bank’s business clients. 

The Capital Region Food Program (CRFP) distributed over 335 cases, with a value of $8,937 of nonperishable food items to 17 area social service agencies, food pantries and churches as part of the program’s Year-Round Distribution Project (YRDP) on Tuesday, August 8th.

Concord Makerspace announces a new manger, Paul Beaudet to help build capacity. He will be taking point on many fronts: welcoming new members, getting them going on the most popular equipment, and helping ensure they have a great experience making.

ApprenticeshipNH, a workforce program of the Community College System of New Hampshire, has partnered with Mason + Rich, P.A., of Concord, to launch an Accounting Technician Registered Apprenticeship program. Using ApprenticeshipNH’s “Earn While You Learn” model, apprentices will earn pay and be trained onsite with a mentor to become Mason + Rich’s next generation of accounting professionals.  The one-year Accounting Technician Registered Apprenticeship program combines 2,000 hours of practical on-the-job training along with 145 hours of classroom learning provided by NHTI – Concord’s community college.

Northeast Delta Dental made six awards totaling $300,000 to support dental loan repayment in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. In 2022, to attract more dentists to Northern New England, Northeast Delta Dental provided $6M in funding over three years to be used for dental student loan repayments. The program is administered by the Recruitment Center at Bi-State Primary Care Association (Bi-State) and is governed by a Steering Committee with representatives from Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Adele Bauman was confirmed by New Hampshire’s Executive Council as director of the N.H. State Council on the Arts. Gov. Chris Sununu nominated her for the position at the July 19 Council meeting. Bauman comes to the Arts Council after 16 years at the N.H. Division of Health and Human Services, where her work focused on the youth sector, including mental health services. In addition to leading Arts Council staff, the director oversees competitive grant processes and program services, compliance with state and federal financial requirements, and the legislative process as it relates to the arts. The director also seeks out collaboration and partnerships with state leaders and organizations across multiple sectors, including healthcare, education and the creative economy.

Concord Hospital Trust Regional Council, a committee of community members located in the Lakes and Three Rivers Region, approved $228,900 in funds directed towards programs and services available in Franklin and Laconia. The directed funding approved by the Trust Regional Council include unrestricted endowments to support operations for Concord Hospital’s Laconia and Franklin facilities, education, the Cardiovascular Institute, as well as the Recovery Clinic.
