Plymouth NH Music Festival

The New Hampshire Music Festival is thrilled to announce that tickets for the 2023 summer are on sale now! We are presenting an exciting season of orchestral concerts, chamber music concerts, and free community events from July 11 to July 27 at a variety of locations and settings in Plymouth, Gilford, Lebanon, and Waterville Valley. Concerts present a wide range of classical music by composers from the Baroque to the present, including Marcello and Vivaldi, Haydn and Beethoven, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, Copland, Diamond, and living composers Jesse Montgomery and Gabriella Frank. Franklin Fabulous Franklin Feud to benefit Franklin Opera House

Franklin Opera House is excited to present a new kind of event. Tickets are on sale now for Fabulous Franklin Feud to benefit the Opera House, on June 24 at 7:30 p.m. This fabulous fundraising event features teams from local businesses and organizations challenging one another in a “Family Feud” game format, LIVE on our stage! Team There are prizes for all competitors, with some audience participation as well! This show is general admission, there will be no reserved seating. Concord Mary Baker Eddy Historic House

The Mary Baker Eddy Historic House at 62 North State Street in Concord is again open for tours, through Oct. 31. Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science, is widely recognized as one of the most influential women in the field of religion. She is the first American woman to found a worldwide religion. Mrs. Eddy lived in this house from 1889 to 1892. Here she undertook a major revision of her primary work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and revised three of her other works. She greatly appreciated the Concord community. View at the Concord house, where one room is devoted to that property. Guided tours are available Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, 1 – 4 p.m. The house is also open by appointment. Closed holidays. A suggested donation of $7 per person is recommended. Children under age 12 and Longyear members are free.

Tilton Revolutionary Reenactment

A Revolutionary Period Reenactment/Encampment will be taking place on June 24 in Tilton. The parade starts at 10 in downtown Tilton, and the encampment and Old Home Day festivities are immediately following at the Tilton School Athletic Field on Sargent and Park Streets. The Wareham Minutemen & Militia companies will be marching with the Tilton Historical Society in the Tilton and Northfield Old Home Day parade. Join them after the parade at the Revolutionary War Encampment as they explain and demonstrate Revolutionary War lifestyles through that historical time.

Gilmanton New Hampshire’s Indigenous People

Have you ever wondered about the history of indigenous peoples from this area before and during the settlement phase? What is their presence in New Hampshire today? To explore these questions and much more, the Gilmanton Historical Societiy invites you to attend an evening with Denise and Paul Pouliot, members of the Cowasuck band of Pennacook Abenaki people. The program on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. is at the Old Town Hall on Route 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works. Social hour and refreshments begin at 6. The public is welcome.
