Meredith Presenting at The Loft in Hermit Woods: The Ayan Imai-Hall Quartet

On Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m., The Loft at Hermit Woods presents The Ayan Imai-Hall Quartet. The fusion of jazz music and tap dance is an age-old tradition passed down through generations, enriching the musical heritage. Immerse yourself in an evening of Jazz and Tap Dance as Ayan Imai-Hall, an accomplished tap dancer, collaborates with Jett Tachibana on saxophone, Asa Meyer-Waldo on double bass, and Zak King on drums. Henniker Dancin’ Under the Stars with Nick’s Other Band

Put on your dancing shoes and prepare to party on when NOB takes the stage on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Nick’s Other Band performs a great selection of Top 40 hits from yesterday and today. The new faces of Max Barrett, percussion and bass guitarist Rob Ravlin will join returning NOB members fiddling phenom Reed Cullen, Keith Barrett, lead guitar and vocals, Phil Goodnow, rhythm guitar and vocals and keyboardist Chuck Will. The concert takes place at the Angela Robinson Bandstand in Community Park on Main Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. (in case of rain, the concert will be held indoors at the adjacent Community Center). Gilford Gilford Community Church to host Summer Fair

On Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., respectively, Gilford Community Church (GCC) will host its annual Summer Fair, at 19 Potter Hill Rd, in Gilford. Held in conjunction with the Town of Gilford’s Old Home Day on Aug. 26, GCC’s Summer Fair will feature a silent auction with more than 100 items, white elephant sale, man cave sale, and more. One new addition this year is a cornhole tournament, hosted by Gilford Youth Center, on Friday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m., featuring cash prizes of $500 and $300 in two divisions with trophies awarded, also. Boscawen Twiggs Gallery celebrates Old Home Week

Twiggs Gallery is celebrating Boscawen’s Old Home Week with a variety of free events highlighting agriculture, music, art and poetry. All events are free and open to the public at Twiggs Gallery located at 254 King Street in Boscawen. Take a summer drive around Boscawen to see the Flashy Flock celebrating Boscawen’s agricultural roots, represented with 55 chicken shapes cut out of wood which Boscawen residents decorated. On Saturday, all of the chickens will be revealed in front of Boscawen homes and businesses as part of the “Flashy Flock Mob.” A link to a map is on Twiggs Gallery’s website at TwiggsGallery.org. On Sunday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, Granite State Draft Horse & Pony Association will be doing plowing demos and competitions in the field next to Twiggs Gallery. The week-long celebration ends on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m., with Twiggs Gallery’s annual summer poetry reading, Poetry & Pie, featuring the Percheron Poets.
