Gilmanton Gilmanton tour

The Gilmanton Historical Society invites you to join a historical walking tour: “Historical Gilmanton’s Glory: From Peyton Place to Perfect Fall Vistas.” The picturesque landscapes beckon literature enthusiasts, history buffs, and lovers of natures’ grandeur for a vibrant autumn escapade. Tour is Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine). Check-in at the Town Hall Lawn. Tickets are available through Eventbrite at gilmantonhistoricalsociety.org. Earlybird at $20; $30 day of the event.

Concord First Friday

Get ready to explore the mysterious side of downtown Concord on Oct. 6, during First Friday. The fun includes Gravy Train Food Truck on Main Street, and Root Up & More handing out spooky soaps from 4 to8 p.m. Then from 5 to 7 p.m., the Community Music School Fall Recital takes place at Eagle Square, and Wine on Main features free wine tasting. At 5:30 p.m., and at 7 p.m. there will be a Haunted Walk with Jenny Kretovic, and Sharing Yoga features Spooky Spirit Yoga at 7 p.m. Shops will be staying open until 8 p.m. For more information and to register for the tours and classes, visit intownconcord.org.

Warner Local StoryWalk

Nearly twenty libraries across the state will be featuring the same picture book, The Thing to Remember about Stargazing by Warner author Matt Forrest Esenwine, on their respective StoryWalks. StoryWalks usually consist of small, waist-high kiosks where readers can enjoy a walk while reading a book. Warner’s Pillsbury Free Library plans to have his book installed in their StoryWalk in time for the 76th annual Warner Fall Foliage Festival on Oct. 7 and 8.
