In the process of looking through old family boxes, Ken Georgevits came across a news article about an uncle-in-law and his service in WWII. As a history buff and retired USN Officer, Georgevits read some things he was never told. His uncle was in the Army, landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy, was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He returned to front line duty just weeks later, only to be seriously wounded again in France. That led to the end of his fighting. Georgevits says he never knew this history, there are so many questions he wished he could have asked. As Veteran’s Day approaches, Georgevits is looking to reach out to any WWII vets or their families. Those interested can email him at kenan2@tiac.net.
