The tax impact of this year’s operating budget in Dunbarton will be minimal thanks to the fund balance surplus that will offset the costs.

The proposed operating budget for the town is $3.31 million, up slightly over the previous year’s $3.28 million. But $148,000 will come from the surplus. If approved, the town portion tax rate will increase by 17 cents, which is about $51 on a $300,000 home.

During voting on Tuesday, Lynn Marcou and incumbent Michael Kaminski are running for a three-year term on the select board.

When and Where: The town meeting will be held at the Dunbarton Community Center at 7 p.m. on March 12. Ballot voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
