Key players: John Stark – Eleanor Girardet (26 points, 14 rebounds), Avery Geaumont (13 points), Abby Duclos (12 points)

Highlights: The Generals consistently put up points throughout the game and went on a 6-0 run to end the first quarter to build some cushion early. Stark advances to Friday’s quarterfinals and will host No. 5 Pelham. The Generals won their last meeting, 59-42, on Jan. 23.

Key players: Pembroke  – Annelise Dexter (15 points), Anne Phillips (12 points), Kate Stephens (10 points); Timberlane – Maia Parker (24 points)

Highlights: The Spartans took over in the second quarter, outscoring Timberlane 18-3 to take a nine-point lead into halftime. Pembroke will host No. 6 Bow in Saturday’s quarterfinal.

No. 7 Hanover 70, No. 10 Coe-Brown 42

Key players: Hanover – Allie McBride (24 points), Sydney McLaughlin (8 points); Coe-Brown – Kalina Kasprzak (17 points), Emma Lapierre (8 points), Hannah Meehan (7 points)

Highlights: Hanover took control in the first quarter with a 15-4 lead and cruised to a victory, ending Coe-Brown’s season in the D-II prelims.

D-I Girls’ Hockey

No. 9 Kingswood-Prospect Mtn. 4, No. 8 Bishop Brady-Trinity-Londonderry 3

Key players: BTL – Kacey Yorston (38 saves), Kylie Palmeter (defense, assist), Meghan Schmidt (defense), Ali Pelletier (2 goals), Cam Despres (goal), Finley Hollenberg (assist), Kylee Dumais (assist)

Highlights:  BTL trailed 2-1 heading into the third period and came back to lead 3-2, but the Knightwolves scored two goals in the last 3:09 of the game, including the game-winning goal with 44 seconds left in regulation in Tuesday’s preliminary round.

Coach’s quote:  “We beat (Kingswood) a week ago by the same score (4-3), so we are pretty even teams. A bad bounce of the puck is all it took. I am so very proud of the effort the girls put in tonight and many times this season. You would never know how short a bench we had.” – BTL’s Dan Earley

D-I Boys’ Hockey

No. 11 Exeter 5, No. 6 Bow 1

Key players: Bow – Owen Webber (goal)

Highlights:  Webber put the Falcons on the board in the second period to keep Bow within a goal (2-1) heading into the third, but the Blue Hawks found the back of the net three times in the final 15 minutes to punch their tickets to Saturday’s quarterfinal. Exeter will play at Everett Arena again, this time against No. 3 Concord.

Records: Exeter 9-10; Bow 11-8

D-II Boys’ Hockey

No. 8 Spaulding 3, No. 9 Somersworth/Coe-Brown 2, OT

Highlights:  The Bearcats led 1-0 after the first period and 2-1 through two, but Spaulding tied the game in the third and won in OT, ending the Bearcats’ season in the D-II prelim round.
