Local and federal authorities investigating two suspected pipe bomb explosions in Weare

Police are investigating the explosion of two suspected pipe bombs that occurred along roadways in Weare on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, injuring at least one person. 

Weare police and fire responded to 362 Dustin Tavern Road at 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday night after a suspected pipe bomb exploded. No injuries or damage were reported, the Weare Police Department posted on Facebook. 

Early Thursday morning around 6:50 a.m., police and fire responded to 16 Sugar Hill Road after a second explosion occurred and caused minor injuries to a passerby. 

The explosions are being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosions with assistance from the New Hampshire State Police and the Weare Police Department, ATF officials announced on their Twitter account. The two devices are being compared to determine whether the incidents are related. 

The investigation is active and ongoing. ATF officials did not respond to requests for comment.
